Jeremy Pape is the founder of ANCHOR & COMPASS, a consulting firm dedicated to strengthening organizational health, strategic planning, leadership development, and marketing for nonprofits and small businesses.
With over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Jeremy transitioned from leading organizations to working alongside leaders and teams, sharing his expertise to empower and equip them for lasting impact. He is passionate about helping organizations align their mission, values, and strategies to navigate change effectively. His work spans all levels of an organization - from executive leadership to developing seamless, set-and-forget marketing systems.
Known for his gentle, practical, and direct approach, Jeremy draws from the wisdom of mentors and collaborators who shaped his own leadership journey. His insights and services have helped numerous organizations gain strategic clarity, build trust, and achieve sustainable growth.
He lives in the Midwest with his wife and two sons.

My Story
My story doesn’t start with my first nonprofit job - it starts at birth. I was born into a preacher’s family, where I grew up seeing firsthand what it takes to run an organization with big goals and little money. I experienced the good, the bad, the ugly, and the bizarre of nonprofit work. It’s in my DNA.
Naturally, my first jobs were in religious nonprofits. Over 20+ years, I worked in both tiny and massive organizations, filling every role from intern to director. Along the way, I had to dig deep into leadership, strategy, and what makes organizations healthy.
In 2023, I spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer, testing a big question: “Is all this experience useful outside the religious world?” The answer was a resounding yes. No matter the setting, leadership is leadership, people are people, and the biggest challenges are the universal.
So in 2024, I launched ANCHOR & COMPASS to help organizations find real solutions to their unique challenges. These days, I spend my time meeting with leaders, offering guidance, and helping businesses and nonprofits thrive.
Important To Me
What I’m most proud of in my work isn’t just the lightbulb moments I help facilitate or the times I ease the burdens of great people so they can do great things. More than anything, it’s the opportunity to live a life aligned with what I believe matters most - people and loving well.
Getting to meet people where they are and step into their stories is both a privilege and a gift. At the heart of every massive challenge, impossible obstacle, or even incredible success are people simply living life alongside other people. And in the midst of all the chaos, uncertainty, and unexpected beauty, the best thing I can contribute is my ability to be a little more patient, offer a little more kindness - to love myself and others as well as I can.
I believe we’re meant to squeeze every drop of meaning out of life, whatever it looks like for each of us. For me, it means investing in people first and using my gifts to bring more love into the world. If that resonates with you, we might just be a great fit to work together.
